Find out moreEvery contractor knows the drill: haul the generator, find it a flat spot, run the extension cords, and watch the fuel gauge all day. Ontario crews framing decks or wrapping siding through the summer have a simpler option built into the 2026 Ford F-150. Pro Power Onboard puts working power right in the truck bed, no separate machine required.
Pro Power Onboard is a factory feature on the 2026 F-150 that places electrical outlets directly in the truck bed. Instead of running a standalone generator alongside the truck, the F-150 itself becomes the power source.
The system delivers up to an available 7.2 kW of usable electric power, enough to run a small air compressor, a mitre saw, and other job-site tools straight from the bed outlets.
Because the outlets sit in the bed, tools plug in exactly where the work is happening, not wherever a rented generator happened to land.
Rather than adding a second engine or a separate fuel tank, the F-150 draws on its own power system to feed the bed outlets. The truck does double duty: it gets the crew to the site, then becomes the power supply once everyone’s there.
That means one less piece of equipment to load, position, fuel, and maintain apart from the truck itself.

For deck builders and siding crews working through the summer, the payoff shows up in setup time. A saw station or a compressor plugs in from the bed instead of waiting on a generator to be unloaded and started.
The bed backing up that power also has real room to work with. Box volume changes with bed length:
Properly configured F-150 models also carry payload ratings up to 2,440 lbs (1,106.8 kg), so lumber, tools, and the truck’s own power source travel on the same trip instead of two. Crews towing equipment trailers have room to plan too: the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is rated to tow up to 8,400 lbs, enough for a loaded trailer of ladders, scaffolding, or material on top of the power already built into the bed.
Inside the cab, the centre console folds flat into a stowable work surface, and lockable storage keeps small tools and valuables secure between stops, useful on a truck that’s already doing double duty as a power source.
Contractors running saw stations, compressors, or work lighting on residential builds get the clearest use out of Pro Power Onboard, since those are the tools it’s built to run.
The same bed outlets suit anyone spending July weekends at a cottage or a campsite. Flip-and-fold rear seats open up extra floor space for coolers and camping gear, so the power and the packing space travel together.
Pro Power Onboard is available on the 2026 F-150 lineup, which spans eight trim levels from XL through Raptor. Engine choices range from the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 (325 hp, 400 lb-ft) to the 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 (420 hp, 570 lb-ft), so there’s flexibility in how power gets to those bed outlets.
Pro Power Onboard gives the 2026 F-150 a built-in electrical system in the bed, so job-site tools and outdoor gear run without a separate generator taking up space in the truck.
